Works and lives in Ghent, Belgium

Herlinde Raeman (°1982, Eeklo) is an artist working primarily with analogue photography and text. Her practice engages with everyday life as a site of feminist inquiry, focusing on motherhood, authorship and relational forms of artistic production. Rooted in long-term collaboration with people from her immediate environment, including friends, family and her child, her work unfolds through deliberately intimate and dialogical processes.

Raeman positions her collaborators as co-authors, developing projects shaped by care, mutual openness and shared responsibility. Through these relational strategies, she explores the intersections of personal experience and collective visibility, paying particular attention to time, archives and underrepresented contexts. Her work challenges conventional hierarchies of authorship and foregrounds alternative models of artistic labour and knowledge production.

Opus One (Breedbeeld) selected her collaborative graduation project, the mom/artist notebook, pt. I, for exhibition at Cultuurcentrum Hasselt (BE) in 2024. In 2025, the project was selected for the Feminist Art Prize at IKOB, Eupen (BE), where it received the second prize. The book dummy of the same project was selected for the VAiF 2025 exhibition in Thessaloniki (GR).

She is currently developing Let us see you again, a collaborative project with Lobna Morsi, mentored by photographer Vincen Beeckman within the Blueprints programme (Breedbeeld). The first iteration of the project was exhibited at nw in Aalst in June 2025. Her practice is supported by the Flemish Government through a development grant (2025–2026).
